Drivers do actually allow control of the screens brightness on laptops. Re-install Windows on a laptop and see how well adjusting the brightness goes without the drivers installed.

And why in the world would nvidia release a driver that would say: brightness level: let's put that to 9683 shall we?!

Those things they have no built in safety protections?!

I think laptop manufacturers have some work to do to prevent that from happening if that is really the case and i would assume AMD laptops must behave the same?

All those attempts to prevent mobile GPU overclocking on their part......pissed my friend off to no end as he had his GTX 860M overclocked safely to the max and running faster than GTX 870M.

Good thing Nvidia is not into developping autonomous cars that would do deep learning and drive themselves around with a drive PX chip or some other shit like that...could you imagine that, they would certainly make the cars crash into concrete walls on purpose so that you have to buy another one haha
