Will a 27 inch monitor be to big for my desk? Pictures included.

Zyre

Greetings,

I have plans on getting myself a new monitor soon.

For the past 6 years I've been using a SAMSUNG Syncmaster 2333T 24inch 1080p monitor.

I would love to get myself a 27 inch 1440p monitor, but I'm not sure if my desk will allow it.

My desk is 100 cm by 60 cm. I sit about 42 cm from my current monitor.

With the monitor in mind, I will be sitting 36 cm from it.

Will 27 inch be to big for me? Won't it be bad for my eyes to be that close?

Here are some pictures of my desk:

oh, well that looks like it would fit easy then?... Cuz if ur current monitor is 24" then adding an extra 3" wont make a difference.

It should be fine, I have the same keyboard. :P

I like to kill hardware. In 2016 alone I have killed 20 Xeon 5160, and 10+ Pentium 4.

It will fit on my desk yes, but i'll be sitting more closely on the 27 inch monitor because of the size.

Oh right I see. Personally I cant say itll make a difference. Unless you want to wear eye protection when gaming so you dont ruin your eyes.

I've just upgraded my desk to 150x75 but the previous one was 100x50 and I had 2 22" monitors on there and there was plenty of space so I'd say you're fine with a single 27

It's supported by my markus chair from Ikea whenever I lie downwards and it's high enough that my head is just about level to the middle of the TV

I have an adjustable monitor mount with movable arms and I keep my 27" screen about 50cm (20 inches) from my face, any closer and I would get a headache after an hour or so. Of course YMMV.
