I am going to be building this one I move to my new place: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/hrLLWZ

I want to get a sound system for movies (5.1 minimum) I have added a sound card to the pc as from what I understand that that model is a good card?

I need a receiver  recommendation, as well as some speakers, budget isn't hugely important but lets not get carried away

I plan to use the motherboard onboard HDMI for up to 4K movies, and this PC will do no gaming at all for anything past solitaire from the windows store, as I will also have a ITX VR box that I can use for gaming in this room.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT

Think I have my receiver options, either

We need a budget.

This can be from 500-50,000$

That motherboard has S/PDIF out so it may be worth checking the manual to see whether or not your motherboard supports 5.1 itself without even needing a discrete sound card, but yes that's a decent card.

What's the budget? Check these out:

I'd like to stay under £1000 for the receiver and speakers, Don;t have the motherboard yet so I'll find the manual online.

So the board is capable of 5.1 and 7.1 using the blue, pink and green at the back plus the front audio, so I assume I don't need the sound card at all?

Essentially yes. You don't need a sound card.

Drivers can be a pain to get working for motherboard audio sometimes, but if it saves £50 who cares eh

What about using on of the two receivers I linked with HDMI? is that a better option that the separate wires?

That depends on the receiver.

The HDMI cable itself shouldn't be a problem, any cable of v1.3 or above is compatible.

If your going to buy a reviver there is no point buying the sound card since it wont do anything since your only sending digital audio signals to reviver to piss around with.
And if you want to keep the sound card you can save money buy not buying a reviver and just getting powered speakers, unless you want to go a bit more high end and get a hellish system with independent amps for each speaker.

The Dick of the audio page!

Or each pair if you dont want to get a crazy expensive system.

Like one guy i bought speakers from o.k. Craigslist, he had a nice system, 12" sub, independent amps for each speaker, and other stuff, something made of wood in there
