NEED HELP FURY X PERFORMING WORSE THAN HD5450

So i just bought my new rig:

6700k, 16GB @2400MHz, Sapphire Fury x,MSI Z170A gaming M3, Toshiba 1TB, zotac 120GB, thermaltake toughpower gold 80+ 650w, cm inwin midtower,vx-229.I have crimson 15.3 installed and when i run far cry primal, no matter on what settings (i tried 4K VSR on high, 1080p on ultra, high and LOW) and every time i get around 15-17 fps.According to hw monitor the clock speeds don't go above 500MHz anytime. So, what's the deal?did they install a potato gpu inside my fury x?

We don't know. Just going through troubleshooting steps. It could potentially maybe be the problem.

Actually, it wouldn't be a first time a total newbie to pcs buys top of the line stuff and then fails at connecting monitor to right gpu lol

Or person just accidentally, without thinking, plugs it in integrated instead of discrete because of being tired or so.

650W is plenty for 6700k + Fury X so Wattage isn't a problem.

However, I don't think Thermaltake Toughpower PSUs are the best quality. And even if they are fine enough in quality, maybe you got defective piece.

Good point right there, Fury X is probably throttling because there is not enough juice.

Well, I just checked the PSU tier listing, and Toughpower Gold is Tier 2, made by Enhance, so it's fine.

But who knows, maybe the rail that gives power to PCI-E, is a bit defective.

Though I doubt that.

Maybe something in BIOS or driver settings.

Ah and btw: what clock speed it showed as 500Mhz?

Because the HBM1 in Fury X is operating at 500Mhz.

Nobody is trying to tell you anything other than possibilities :) it could possibly be PSU. It could possibly be drivers. It could possibly be the GPU. Hell, it could possibly be the mobo.

Unless the power supply is really really bad probably not. Lets wait for the drivers and then check the temperatures.
