What PC Registry Cleaner?

I don't because I have made a bunch of registry hacks which I am afraid that the cleaner will get rid of.

However I hear good things of Piriform's CCleaner.

I use CCleaner all the time :)

CCleaner (formerly Crap Cleaner), developed by Piriform, is a utility program used to clean potentially unwanted files (including temporary internet files, where malicious programs and code tend to reside) and invalid Windows Registry entries from a computer. A public version 1.01 for Mac OS X has been released along with a Network Edition.

Do you have system problem or use Windows XP or older? If not, DO NOT use a registry cleaner. It has 0 advantages, and may break software or software uninstaller.

The registry is a database, a database with 1 entry takes the same time to access it (query it), than if it had 30 billion items. That is one of the advantages of databases.

Been using CCleaner for a few years now, does help to give it a clean every few weeks, just remember if you are going to use CCleaner remember to deselect your SSD if you got one

CCleaner. Never had any problem with that. CCleaner doesn't have defrag (it's in defragler ) so no need to worry on ssd. Also it works fine with winxp. Don't know about even older systems.

i heard it can speed up your PC

Soo is Vodka-cooling the PC...

Cleaning registry wont speed up your PC. It will just delete unneeded keys from the hives. In some cases it can fix some compatibility issues.

CCleaner I run it at least once a month. its the best

I honestly don't know what you do to break your system monthly to require as a possible fix, delete program entries.

I think you should look into it.

I do not recommend using a registry cleaner. I tried CCleaner once to "improve" my gaming performance but it messed up my OS. Windows would not update and I couldn't run some files. I had to do a re-install and it was a big waste of time. There is no benefit of using a registry cleaner.

Cleaning all unneeded stuff monthly is just good way to keep system running smoothly. Something like registery fix is not top priority though.

No, but it prevents conflicts with new programs which might be using same values. Have you had some bad experience with registery cleaning for such angst for them?
