(Rumor) Battlefield 5 will be set in near future, still use Frostbite 3

There were leaked slides for EA's Play event which will take place around E3. From another site, there are leaked shots of planning documents for BF5. Since they are drawn over, i am going to take them with a bucketful of salt. Also of note here, is that one of the pictures claims that maps will be 're-imagined' in Frostbite 3, when BF4 had the same maps and already ran on Frostbite 3. If this is true, then BF5 will not have massively upgraded graphics from BF4, which is good news for console gamers and PC gamers running lower-end hardware.

NOooOooOoo the near future setting is so boring! I guess Bad Company 3 is never coming back, but they could have at least fed us a small scale Battlefield 1944.

Wow. "TOO MANY NUMBERS!?"  this guy had the right priorities. 

 

IMO this really sucks. The "set in the near future but with awesome technology" gig is becoming as overused as Nazi zombies. 

Wish we could see a good WW1 or WW2 bf.

 

Oh, and one more thing. "Re-Imagining your favorite maps"  is PR for "we were to lazy to make a new map, we'll resin these 4 year old ones for you." 

 

And to think I was gonna look forward to it.

The first document claims there's going to be a new C&C announced, yeah right, EA tossed C&C away when they assimilated Westwood. That alone should be clue enough to these being fakes.

Also Mercenaries 3, that would be epic but there's more chance that EA will drop DLC entirely than them releasing Mercs 3.
