SSD is fast, pricey, and limited by write cycles/life span

HDD is slower, cheaper, and more stable

It will both work. HDDs and SSDs are just two different technologies for storing data. I would recommend storing the games you play more often on an SSD, but if you have a lot of games you might want to buy an HDD for mass storage.

Depends on your use case scenario. I would recommend getting a small SSD (128GB or 256GB) and a big HDD for mass storage. Then you'd put your most used programs and your OS on the SSDs for fast loading times and use the HDD for mass storage e.g. for media, games you don't play as often, etc.

I would recommend buying one big HDD like  2-3TB unless you want to set up something like a RAID.

However if you have the money for a bigger SSD go for it, though I would consider the money better spent elswhere.

what is "big enough"?

how many GB of games do you have? and how much money do you want to spend?

can you afford a 850 evo large enough?

No. Essentially it is the same as two drives only smaller. SSHDs are really only useful if you don't have multiple slots or in tight spaces e.g. in a laptop.

the general thing people do is load windows and things that take forever to laod on the SSD and then put most other programs on a high performance hard drive. if you have the funds to do this its reccomended, if not go HDD

I think what I'm going to do is get two 250gb ssd's and keep my 1 tb hdd and put my os and only os on one of the ssd's and favourite games, programs etc on the other one and just have my current hdd as a storage for games that i don't play as often and programs i don't use that much

thanks for everyone's help :)
