Desperate for a Gaming PC for under £100. Is it possible?

I am currently on a very low budget to be spending on a PC - only £100. ($187 Canadian, $141 USD)

I am interested in both pre-built and custom-built PCs, but a custom-built would be preferred because it could be cheaper.

I would expect reasonable performance from the rig, with ability to play games such as GTA V on medium settings.

I may be milking it a bit here with a budget of only £100, but someone must have a solution!!

Thanks in advance-

Jack (stonejack2001@gmail.com).

I probably couldn't pick parts, but I would recommend buying used locally. If you haven't already seen scrapyard wars, watch it because Linus and Luke give good tips on buying used. They also have a couple other videos on buying used parts too, but if you can, save up for a few months to get a PC that will be upgrade able, rather than on that whose motherboard you can't find parts for anymore.

Haha okxD

Nice idea! I might wait a bit for some other replies, if there's no other solution, then I might just do what you suggest!

Try entering contests or just wait. I could buy a $900 PC now but I am going to wait and get an $1800 one

I reckon for such a low budget you should be looking at used parts. You should be able to get a decent used system if you shop smart.

I don't know any in the UK but another good idea would be to maybe set up a steam account on twitch and watch the MLG tournaments for CSGO next week and sell the packages. A cobblestone on is roughly $70 CAD so if you win 2-3 you could make maybe 100-200 pounds.

Expecting GTA V on medium for £100 is nigh impossible.

I've seen some dell inspirons with core 2 duos going on eBay for around £50, could get one of those, stick a quad cpu in it and save for a gpu, 750ti second hand for around £65? You'll end up a touch over budget but I've got a q6600 you could have for a tenner

well first of all , for £100 , you aren't egtting anything new, considering the gtx 950 which would handle gta 5 already cost about that amount...

Your best bet would be to try to find something used.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

If you are looking for prebuild i don't think you'll find a good solution but if you can build a good idea would be to buy some hp/office oc or what ever from ebay for about £30-60 make sure it's atx and quad core then look at cex for a gpu i have found there pricing good. My mate has a q6600 overclocked and a hd7870 and plays gta v med-high settings at 30fps its not the best but at the budget you can't expect much anyway

Thanks for the help, I have shopped at CEX before for games and movies, but the one where I live rarely gets any decent computer hardware come through. I'll check there today, and I really like the idea of getting a cheap office PC and upgrading it. Thanks ;)
