Upcoming first build

The reason why we say to use the 390 is because the 390 is better in every way compared to the 970 for example you get better fps in games and even better fps at higher resolution due to the 390 having double the vram of a 970. They do use more power but the performace leap makes up for the power consumption. Never really heard a sound issue honestly.

Yeah it has indeed better vram which makes it better already, but is a PSU of 500W then enough? I saw in this video it uses around 442W at load, I actually have no idea how much power the other components use

Also, the budget is for the hardware, i can get the OS free anyway (yes legally)

Bad build

No HDD

Bad psu

Why would you spend an extra $60 on a better cpu and a cpu cooler when the difference is so small.

Difference between 6400 and 6600k?

EVGA recommends a 550w psu for my build (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QrVHYJ) I use this website (http://www.evga.com/power-meter/) when I am calculating watts.

800MHz without overclocking mate. I think it worth extra money.

Yes his whole test bench uses 442w and I always get a psu that has atleast 100 extra watts from what it uses.

His test bench is below. So all of that plus a 390 uses 442w. Now your build wont be using that many watts because he has different parts.

Intel Core i7-5820K
Corsair Hydro Series H105
ADATA DDR4 Memory
MSI X99S SLI PLUS
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
Seagate Barracuda 5TB
XFX XTR 750 Watts
Fractal Design Define R4

The thing is though thats a big price difference ($60 to be exact plus about $30 for a good cpu air cooler) so you just made a $90 price difference when you could of went from a 6400 to a 6500 which would be a $17.99 difference and the 6500 has a stock cooler so there is no $30 for that aftermarket cpu cooler. By spending that $17.99 you get a performance difference of .5ghz. So whats better $17.99 for a .5ghz difference or $90 for a .8ghz difference? The decision is clear.

Damn I say so alot lol

Switched out Win 10 for a 250gb ssd.

Thats a nice build but when I want to order these components here somewhere in belgium or around; I'll have to ehm adjust some components... due the price here isn't like there.

The GPU is like around 350€ here damn

Well I think I have the final result of the built after all the replies of you guys. And yeah indeed the prices are a bitch...

This list is the result and this is around 815€ here. Also, about the GPU - I picked the gaming version as the normal version has a lot of bad reviews on that shop website.

If any component can be replaced with another, better/cheaper one, reply

Also, will the stock cooler of the cpu be enough? Or is it recommended to buy a seperate one

(I probably wont overclock)
