Microsoft Windows 10 Redstone 2 Update delayed

Mircosoft have, according to KitGuru, delayed the release of its long awaited "Redstone 2" update for Windows 10. The release, due to be released this November, will now not release until CES 2017. Redstone 1 is still to be released in June, meaning at least some of the bugs win Windows 10 are to be addressed in the summer.

Redstone (1 and 2 combined) is Microsoft's first major update to Windows 10 since its release last year.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I have had a few issues with Windows 10. The search bar bug is a pain in the butt, and for some reason my SLI keeps disabling itself, something I contacted NVIDIA about and they said it's a Windows issue. Hopefully this is fixed in Redstone 1.

Have any of you guys had issues with Windows 10 recently?

I wonder if these updates will revert the privacy settings back to default, change default apps to Microsoft ones and install previously uninstalled apps like the last update (Threshold) did.

Boy was that annoying...

Anyone knows what to expect from Redstone 1?

Nothing interesting most likely, im looking for features that would bring windows in the present currently its a relic with semi-pretty GUI.

Things like getting rid of legacy stuff in windows, unifying the GUI modern like, having built in garbage monitor/collector there are so many places inside windows that gather all sorts of files from installs or running apps that can only be cleaned manually or multiple cleaner tools.Maybe better administrator/user model like linux, im sick of dealing with "you need administrator rights to do x" and theres no way to provide it, and many more issues to improve.

Anyway those are just dreams MS sucks....

I thought Threshold 2 was the first "major update" to windows 10...

I think that's less major. Redstone is more like a Service Pack for earlier versions, AFAIK.

If Edge ignores the hosts file (it does, try it) then I don't see why the telemetry wouldn't.

afaict updating to 10586 doesn't reset privacy settings to their defaults or change default applications anymore. Think it still reinstalls Microsoft apps, though. Been a little while since I last updated a machine to 10586.

it does respect it when doing it from antibeacon, unless it's the host system's host file in action

Scroll wheel is your mouse software being poorly coded. Uninstall your mouse driver/software and I bet it will work fine.

Only serious issues I had was Nvidia with their crappy OpenCL drivers, and my soundcard isn't recognised by most recording software except for audacity.

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.

Its funny that Microsoft is naming their updates after one of the most pain in the ass mechanics in Minecraft. Redstone is the worst.

if you know how to use it properly( i don't) you can make really cool things like automated(sorta kinda) farms to a computer.
