Considering this precedent, I'd say when they will release VR compatible computers at last, they won't mention it too loud, and therefore they'll probably not loose fans a bit.

Exactly.
Apple knew they didn't have these common features in their products. Thus, they progressively integrated them in their devices with each gen, but along with new "revolutionary features" one at a time. Therefore, when Apple release a new product, attention is drawed more towards the new incredible feature than to the fact the company has spent a long ass time to catch back with the concurrence regarding other common features. 
So when the ipod nano 5th gen got released, comments weren't about "FM radio at last in 2009 ? Great job Apple " but they were more about"OMG I CAN HAZ SELFIES WITH THE NEW INTEGRATED CAMERA NOW".

For Macs, when it will have VR capabilities at last, consumers won't be bitching about how late Apple is to the VR party, but they will rave about the revolutionary integrated iButtplug that comes with their new 99 inches Mac, because you know... it's revolutionnary.

Now in Apple's defense, they do make good laptops. They are overpriced yes, but many students use them. Most photographers use Macbook pros and Imacs too, because of the combination of a perfect screen and correct hardware for photo editing.
Though, my brother photographer intended to buy a new Mac to replace his 2013 Macbook, but he hesitates because of those crappy AMD mobile GPUs the Imacs have; as he would like to play the latest titles on the side. He doesn't want to ruin himself on a Mac pro either. Therefore, he is waiting for the next GPUs generation to roll out, so that maybe Apple adopts it for their computers.

Comparing a gaming laptop to a Macbook is a a nonstarter because they are designed to do two different things. A gaming laptop is designed to be as fast as possible while still being somewhat portable. We all know that a gaming laptop will crush a Macbook in games, but then again it will weigh significantly more, suck down power like mad, and have worse build quality.

Okay first i have to say one thing. Get rekt Apple. U just got 360 quickscoped by MLG company. Continuing on, it exadurates that the most powerful apple computer, the $6,000 Mac Pro, isn't even powerful enough to run the Oculous Rift. Dissing them even more, I have a feeling that my $750ish soon-to-be computer could run it. It's kind of like that Apple is getting a taste of their own medicine.

Well you can always beef up a system, but the problem is the factory specs. If you'd buy a high end card to add to a computer, you might as well save some money and buy a pc and just load OSX on it.

one thing I hate about people is that they have no respect for apple. Just cause you can't play games on them does not mean they suck. They are not made as gaming PCs they are for people that want a nice looking solid computer and for productivity.

True that but I am just stating if someone does have a Macbook they should be able to use VR if they have a GPU dock!

I still respect Apple, its just their fanboys. One of my friend is one of them. It can get really annoying.

No one denies they are good computers but you have to admit they are limited in use and over priced, unless an OS  is worth $900.

The true reason is that gaming on a mac computers is not the market that Apple truly targets. So, I'm fairly sure Apple does not care about this, and quite frankly, I would be entirely SURPRISED if Apple didn't open up a development team to work on their own proprietary VR system that is 100% optimized for OS X. 

 

That being said, you also can't just "load OS X" on your pc. You need some specific parts, which sucks because you're limited.

And there you have the fundamental issue with all Apple hardware, they put form over function at every possible avenue. Screw the customers experience as long as it looks good and they can  nickel and dime you for stuff which, due to Apples design choices, should be included with the device at the point of sale.

 

Now onto the fallacy that Apples contain pixie dust which somehow makes them better at certain tasks. Considering Macs now contain exactly the same hardware as any PC I'd love an explanation as to how you think that might be possible? The Retina display does score 100% on the standard RGB colour gamut test but it only scores 78% on the Adobe RGB gamut test, there's PC displays that score in the high 90s on both tests making them better for usage on Adobe applications. Other than the screens there is literally no difference in hardware. 

 

Macs used to beat PCs for media creation and editing a long time ago, now there's only one benefit to using a Mac over a PC and that's Apples crary movie rendering workflow (which I will admit must be pixie dust powered) in their movie editing suite (don't remember its name offhand), somehow it is capable of rendering a project much faster than a Windows PC on slower hardware. When it comes to photo editing, music production and colour correction a PC will beat a Mac hands down.

 

There designed to be as fast as possible? Really? So how exactly are the prioritising speed and design at the same time? Macs are legendary for thermal throttling, just go watch Linus trying to watercool his Mac Book. That's also why they draw less power than gaming laptops, because A) they have much slower GPUs and B) because Apple use firmware to throttle everything back in order to prevent the thing from welding itself to the users lap. Once again this boils down to design choice, they can't have their beautiful laptops with air holes all over them and fans which the user can hear. Form over function at every possible avenue.

 

Now one final thought, the £30 more expensive Razer Blade wouldn't meet the requirements to be "VR Ready" despite having a hugely more powerful GPU. I doubt very much is the Apple would even meet the "VR Capable" mark.

 

Lucky Palmer was totally justified to make that statement.

a razer blade outspecs a macbook pro and they cost the same and weight the same with identical build quality and good battery life

And Razer doesn't sell 32GB ram kits for 600$

Calm your tits. Things that the razer one doesn't do nearly as well that can be useful for a casual user who will never use a mouse (their main target) the best trackpad on the market, fantastic panel (the razer blade one is also very good) and the best build quality on the market (the razer also being quite good). If I were to choose between the 2 I would get the razer blade. That doesn't make the macbook a bad product though, it has a target audience. You aren't the target audience. I'm not the target audience. But the target audience won't care about the GPU.

maybe, maybe not, have to consider also that for real mac it will be most definitely an eGPU, and that has is own set of problems, i mean only now Win is getting p&p drivers from both AMD and Nvidia, and before that it was quite a hurdle to set up on laptops specially if you wanted to use your laptop display instead of a secondary monitor
