You're somwhat wrong on the 270, the 270 and 270X are both 7870, but the X is clocked ~120MHz higher out of the box, the R7 370 is actually the return on of the 7850 but clocked higher and with a 4GB or 2GB option, as the original 7850 came with either 1GB or 2GB of RAM.. Just FYI.

Yeah, I thought they had done some switching around with the old 7850 and 7870 chips in the 270/270X and 370, just couldn't remember the specifics. Thanks for clarifying. ;)

Thank you both for the info I will look into the Lsi controller I just wonder if I can boot into windows off a raid card. The r7 370 I was unaware of that thanks for the info ill probably end up with that or a used 270x since they are both around 125. I just want a half decent gpu to hold me over because I really want a 21:9 monitor that is 1440p as soon as the prices get in the 500 range new or used. 2 the gpus for Amd seem like it will be a huge leap since we have been at 28nm for 5 years and to buy high end now would be foolish to me. I dont game a lot I just dont have the attention span for it like I used to, so this is only to play Civ V and Battlefield 4 when I feel to so I want to buy a card that will last me 4 years minimum.

Some RAID cards don't play well with operating systems installed, don't know about this one specifically.

I got a killer deal on a r7 260x which from some reviews I read can play battlefeild 4 on 1080p at 45fps on all ultra and over 60fps on medium. I got it for 60.25 with free shipping this will hold me over fine until the new amd gpus make there appearance. Now to save for a lg or dell 21:9 ultra wide 1440p monitor then grab something beefy when the polaris gpus land. I may get another 260x and crossfire it to get 60+fps on ultra if I can find another around the same price. It was the XFX r7 260x 2gb double dissipation which i read the r7 360 is a re brand of that and the 260x is a rebrand of the HD 7790 . Since it has a beefy cooler I am hoping for a good overclock fingers crossed. I also picked up a brand new modular 600 watt cooler master silent series psu for 28.99 free shipping just got it today, it is so silent compared to this thermal take 430 watt i got free with all my best buy rewards. Now to trade that with my neighbor for another windows 10 pro key (works for Microsoft) or a 500 gb or 1tb hard drive. I have 3 480gb sandisk ssds in raid 0, and 1 500gb and 1 1tb drive I just want to run one of them in raid 0 for my secondary storage and keep the 500 or 1tb as a back up drive and I should be set. My only other question for crossfire could i use a r7 360 or a HD 7790 for cf since they are similar cards?
