It has 6 cores but with a good cooler like the Kraken X61 that you have in your build it can be overclocked to a similar clock speed as the 6700K buty it will have 6 physical cores. That will matter less when gaming right now but if you plan to do video editing or when DirectX 12 comes out then more cores will be more useful, as it already is starting to become more useful in some newer games.
