I'm rocking a 250gb drive in my Toshiba laptop. I know it's not optimal but you know, whateves. My system is the way it is because I didn't choose my computer. My parents got me this just last Christmas as my old laptop was just bad at pretty much everything (though the keyboard was simply fantastic :P ) So basically, until I acquire the funds to get an actual desktop, this is what I have and I'd be happy with anything to upgrade my experience.

I can smell you

1. I currently have a Western Digital WD5000AUDX 500GB HDD.  I needed something with a little more storage than the 250GB I had and didn't have much cash to spend on one at the time.  Earlier this year I also bought an external 2TB USB 3.0 HDD from Buffalo.

When I build a new PC around spring next year I plan on getting a 250GB or larger SSD and use my current WD5000AUDX along with the external Buffalo HDD as mass storage (unless I have better by then) then later on upgrade the internal WD HDD to a WD Black or Red for mass storage.

I only have a single 320 gb hhd.  I would really like to run a setup that would not require me to constantly be deleting and reinstalling stuff for space, it gets old fast

I've had many configurations....currently I have a RAID 0 Setup just for the performance...

The main reason I had all the RAID setups was because one day randomly browsing through Linus's videos saw this RAID vid and well since then been obsessed with it...No pc I build feels complete unless it had in some form of RAID...Mainly use RAID 0, 1 and 10.

I have: 500GB internal drive (unsure of brand) because that's what my PC came with (when I bought it 6 years ago....) and since I have bought two WD external drives which take up two of the four USB 2.0 drives of my back I/O (beast system, I know) which are 1TB and 2TB which store my games, movies, music, etc. Currently building a new system so these drives would make a great addition

Crucial m 4 - because I didn't realise at the time that it was one of the slower ones - but it was most reliable at the time I bought it (there were reports of sandforce based SSD having problems )

WD 160 GB - 10 years old now, don't have a heart to take it out of my PC - it is only remaining part from the rig I bought with first money I earned in my life. I probably shouldn't keep ALL of my personal data on it, but I do it anyway

320 GB WD - I don't really know what do I need it for, but it's there

Samsung F1 1TB - those disks are freakin' awesome - fast, reliable, quiet... I use them as scratch disks and HDD install partitions

WD Red 3 TB - it is also fast and quiet - bought it recently on so many recommendations, it is exelent. This one Belongs to captain Jack Sparrow xD

I have a 500g hard drive which has recently met its cap. I had to transfere all my movies and tv shows onto my ipad and delete then off my computer and now im scared to sync my ipad to my computer because it might move all the movies and shows back accros. im now in the process of building my computer but due to lack of funds i am stuck at a stand still so a new hard drive would be like christmas all over again.

I used a 1TB WD green drive as my storage setup. The reason i choose this is because it is cheap and it fits into the budget when i build my pc.

I am currently using 1tb WD green power for OS storage and another 3tb WD blue for normal storage. I just need big storage space and save more power that's all.

I currently have an 120gb muskhin chonos ssd (upgrading to an intel ssd soon for better performance and reliability) for my os and fast app startup(autocad and photoshop) becouse it is blazing fast. there is also a 2tb wd green for storage, a 1tb wd black for apps and games that don't fit on the ssd and one old 1.5tb external wd elements that is dying currentlly. The black is an excellent compromise between storage speed and the green does its job- it stores data for a reasonable price :D The only reason why i have the external drive is that when i was buying a HDD i was afraid to open the computer and put an internal drive. but after same time spent watching linus i got the courage to build my own computer. so now i'm stuck with my WD elements :)

Thanks for the giveaway! Here is my storage setup :)

For my boot drive, I have a Samsung Sprinpoint F1 1tb, because it was cheap and reliable. But I will be upgrading to a Samsung 840 EVO SSD next month.

And for storage, I have 2 Seagate Barracuda 2 tb drives. Because they are really cheap, and for my experience they are really reliable.

Hope you choose me, I have run out of space for all my movies :)

I run an Intel 128GB SSD for my OS drive and a single WD 2TB Green drive for my data. I use to use multiple drives (Seagate 750GB Black) in RAID1 and even used additional drives in a removable tray to backup to and take to a saftey deposit box, but that was a pain and didn't get done frequently. Using carbonite I feel safe enough with one drive. I run my current config because it provides me with great performance for most applications (my OS SSD) but I have plenty of storage with my 2TB data drive. As with many others, all the Steam games take up a lot of the space on my large drive :)

Since I can only have a gaming laptop right now. I use 1 of the 2 seagate hybrid ssd/hdd drives provided for softwares and media files that I excess regularly, added an ssd as a boot drive for the sake of speed and I have an external harddrive for all the other storage

I`m running on a Seagate 400GB hdd drive. Why? I picked up this 6 years ago because of the lack of space. Had a 80GB hard drive that died later. I found this on sale and it was a nice deal at that time. Unfortunatelly after a while i saw that it wasn`t enough. But somehow i did manage to handle the space available with moderation. And yes, i need more space :)

I just use a whimpy 1TB hard drive for everything. I use it for recording FRAPS, and playing steam games (have  over 100 games) editing videos, and photos, and storing everything else I got on my computer. Mos I ever have is 400GB free. It's so full I can barely record things with FRAPS anymore.

1. I have a desktop that I use for my home-based work and got gaming and other entertainment as well. I use an OCZ Vector 128GB SSD as a boot drive. Good warranty, this is actually an RMA replacement since the first one died after some overclocking adventure which I don't plan to repeat in the future. As for storage, I use three 500GB hard drives. I have a Western Digital one which is a Caviar Blue and about 3 years old now I think. A 3.5" Seagate which was an RMA replacement from a friend. Another Seagate drive but a 2.5" one from my laptop since I replaced it with an SSD.

I'm currently running a NAS with 2x WD red 3TB, 1x WD green 2TB and 1x WD black 500GB

I chose this hardware because reviews were good at the time I bought the 500GB and the 2TB and I didn't check the reviews for the reds because my trust is with WD.

Currently using it as a NAS in a desktop tower but when I got more HD I'll transfer those in my rackmount server.
