Cannot see the one temperature sensor I actually need

So my testbench has a WX4600 pc's motherboard, and this motherboard has a freaking ambient airflow temp sensor (which amusingly is a 3904 wired as a diode) that normally goes on the front of the case, and I wanted to use it as a basic temp probe for troubleshooting graphics cards. Unfortunately, neither HWMonitor or speedfan can find its temperature. Any ideas? Should I mash up some potatos and put them in the test bench's 8800gts? Buy a cheap temp probe from ebay?
