As we grow older do we become worse at competitive gaming?

This is a short timespan but i can't pull off what i did when i was 18 and now i am nearing 26.

 

Getting GodLike trick shot's in COD, zapping every bastard i saw in Unreal Tournament... i seem to have lost the dexterity and reaction speed, am i alone?

Reaction speed goes down. 

 

 

For me, it's been life and time in general. I just don't care as much for daily gaming sessions, so, practice goes away and I loose my skills. Now I likely suck at most competitive games, but still have plenty of fun.

true, but should that really be noticeable from 18 to 26?  I mean, a lot of people will say they are in their prime at 25

I can sometimes react out of instinct, like i saw it happen before i did it, gaming intuition if you like? but at face value my reactions are slower.

 

Played a community server vs a Supreme, end of match guy was a 14 year old squeeker bad mouthing us LOL.

I have other skills but raw reaction times are not there any more.

Yes and no. Your reflexes definitely fade away, but you gain experience to compensate. Many pro CS players are coming up on their 30s. And they still tear up kids.

In the extreme, yes. 

 

You can't game when you're blind and have the reaction speed of a dead cat.

I'm sporadic at times, looking like some kind of aimbot with 1 firefight, but slow as a turtle the next, i really don't understand it.

I think its more along the lines of the fact that online gaming has a wider audience now than it did even 5 years ago never mind 10. Therefore there will be more skilled players. Id also say people are playing online games from a younger age now as well so they gain experience faster

A combination of slower reflexes and simply having less time to practice your skills. 

You can't play CS:GO 14 hours a day when you work full time.  <_<

My life right now is pretty bad, i am mentally stressed every day and am pretty depressed... this may be what affects my judgement in gaming.

This forum i am myself, but more so if you get what i mean? Perhaps a little overdone, currently trying to get myself into doing a Diploma for what i hope will eventually be a Personal Trainer.
