Choosing my first SSD

MrAtia

Hello people.

I bought a gaming PC 2 years ago, and somehow it had only a "normal(old)" HDD at 1TB. This is fine except it's not an SSD.

Now I have SSD in my working lap, but I didn't buy that, so my question is really what is best for my use.

I play some WoW, hope to play some Overwatch soon, I have too many chrome tabs open, but beside that it dosen't do much other work maybe some straming from time to time and the usually chat programs for "raiding".

I only need the 240(ish) range GB of storage, and I have looked at 3 different SSDs and I simply can't figure what is better and for what reason it is, so I was hoping someone here could help me out!

The 3 I have looked at are: (sorry it is in danish, i have hashed the URL to the tech spec, or you might know em on the names, but I want to buy em at that shop :)

They are all at 240Gb, somewhat the same speeds, and the price are close.

Any help to enlight this is appreaciated !

Thanks in advance

To be honest, it doesn't matter too much. You will feel benefits no matter what. But the difference in read/write speeds between one SSD to another wont be noticeable unless you're moving lots of files around all the time.

Load times will be great with any SSD. Having chrome tabs or chat programs open while gaming wont be affected by your SSD.

The Kingston HyperX Fury or Crucial are the two best options. At this budget it doesn't really matter, but V300 drives have a reputation for severe performance degradation, though I'm not sure how accurate that is today.

If you can spend a bit more, the reliability of a Samsung 850 Evo or Sandisk Ultra II would be far superior options.

Yes, Samsung drives last longer than most other drives, but it really doesn't matter if your SSD dies after 30 years or 40.

No, but as I mentioned, the V300 has a notoriously bad reputation for both performance and reliability and should probably be avoided.

I'd avoid the Kingston V300 SSDNow.

Yeah, but what has that to do with the sentence I wrote you? ôo

So your saying that

would be a more "stable" choise? the price is actually the same as the others O.o

If it's the same price, then get the 850 Evo.
