First time plugged memory - pc wont boot black screen.

Hello i have a question. Today i bought new memory kit 16gb. But first time when i launch pc , pc wont boot, black screen on monitor and red light on mobo.So i reseat memory and all is fine pc booted. What caused that was not booted first time? Should i worried?

you probably put it in the 3 and 4 slot

 

its recommended to put it in the 1 and 2 slot

so first time you put ram sticks to 1,3 or 2,4 slots? lets say you took 1,3 and it didnt work, so you put them in 2,4 and it worked? if thats the case you have 2 broken memory slots in your mobo. id rma that, even tho it wouldnt cause any problems to you, but when/if you sell your mobo one day its going to be a con.

Probably because you didn't insert the memory all the way. Common mistake, don't worry.

It doesn't matter what slots are used unless running dual or quad channel. In that case, DIMMs have to be in slots of the same colour.

Nah i plugged memory on the same slots first time when i boot pc , and pc wont boot, red light on mobo. I just reseat memory second time on the same slots , and pc booted. Should i be worried or not? ( because pc wont booted 1 time )

maybe the new kit isn't supported by your mobo? the mobo manual should have a list of compatible RAM

But second time it booted so it must be supported.

Don't worry. You might have not inserted it all the way or there was a dust particle in the slot preventing it from booting.. If everything is working now don't panic.

Yes all is ok now:) But Batman Arkham Knight still stutter lol. MAybe because i dont have SSD?
