Two new photos I took today:

3dUr3G6.jpg

Ducky Shine 5 with Cherry MX Reds and a Tai-Hao set, White w/Black font (doubleshot ABS).

O1yEYBV.jpg

And this is the keyboard I'm using right now. It's a KÛL ES-87 with 65g tactile Zealios, blue top case and a Vortex doubleshot PBT (White/Blue) keyset.

The mouse is a Logitech G403 (Prodigy series, wired). It's a pretty good mouse imo.

:)

Yo mate, if you have to choose only 1 keyboard from these two?
which one will you keep? Kul es or ducky ?

Why do you ask? I plan on keeping both atm but if I had to chose only one to keep then it would be the KÛL ES-87 for two main reasons: the KÛL got 65g tactile Zealios which imo are better than the Cherry MX Reds on the Shine 5, I prefer them over Red for sure. And the KÛL is a TKL which I also tend to prefer over fullsize keyboards.

I might sell or trade my DS5 someday.

I plan on buying either one of them. Im still deciding between go over quality or just go within my budget haha.
But i might just go for KUL TKL

Okay, I have now done the spring swap on my GON 60% and my Phantom TKL! Both are the same layout! All Green switches have been changed to 100g and all the blue switches are now 65g!

2016-10-19 21.05.54.jpg

Lubed up all the switch housings. I just lubed which the slider comes in contact with the sides as my test switches went silent if I did all the other lube points...

Springs added!

Stems and Keycaps back onto the GON! Got to wait a little longer for the keycaps for the Phantom to turn up!

@the pokemon kid hello just wondered what did it cost to get your keyboard case powder coated, as I have a VA68M case which is a little dinged up and powder coating might be a good way to sort it :)

It cost me £40 to get it powder coated and then Satin lacquered... They did an amazing job.

By the way, are you on the mechanical keyboard UK facebook group?

Other places prices might vary.

I was actually pointing you towards it if you weren't already... I am one of the mods on there.

I'll have to look into somewhere that does powder coating, hoping mainly it will cover some of the small marks in the finish of the va68m case I seem to have.

Aha okay I was just wondering is all O>O I just joined the group today after looking at the UK meetup thread

Go to a place that specialises in Alloy wheels. They will do a great job and usually they are cheaper as alloy wheels dont cost a lot to be sprayed and a keyboard is a smaller job. (They can do a keyboard in a few minutes while spraying the wheels.). You want to be careful however. The place I went to bakes the paint on in a huge purpose build oven, because mine is aluminium it didn't matter but if it is plastic it will easily destroy it.

We will have some more details shortly on the meetup...

I have tried Browns quite a few times, but I still can't feel the tactile feedback on it, to me it just feels like a harder to press Red switch.. Anyways, I should hopefully join the mechanical keyboard master race this or next week, with Cherry MX Blue switches.

Anyone need some reclaimed mx brown switches? I've got nearly a full keyboard's worth.

Who doesn't need them? There are a few of us on the forum that would probably use them at some point.

I'm kinda unlucky.. The Cherry MX Blue keyboard I wanted to get was sold out just before I could order one and now it's unclear when new ones will come in.. I'll probably wait a week and if they aren't available within that time, I'll likely get an MX Brown keyboard. I guess.

From my keyboard?

You could give them back to me. I could always find a use.

Yes actually. I planned on making a keyboard with them but I couldn't find the time. I just bought a keyboard...

Now I need to replace my printer paper mousepad and dell mouse from 2006

Just got access to a makerspace here in DC that has a full metal shop, including CNC mills that have beds that are more than big enough for a full size keyboard. I guess I know what I'm going to be designing here pretty soon...

I ised to have the K65, and absolutely loved it. i'm looking for a little more feautures now though, like RGB lighting.

Can anybody help me out?

Have you had a look at the Ducky shine 5? I believe that it is RGB and comes with red switches. I used to have a Ducky Shine 3 and it had the best build quality I have felt on a non custom keyboard!

On a different note! I have now got a Gold keycap! I decided to paint my K3KC Bro!

EDIT: I just bought 120 Aristotle switches! I cannot wait for these to get here!
