Old iPad what do I do with it?

So I have an old iPad 1st gen and I don't know what to do with it,any suggestions?

There are some apps that let you use it as a second monitor. This didn't sound too cool to me at first, until I realized that the app I downloaded allowed for the touch screen input to be usable. Pretty cheap way(assuming you already have an old iPad) to add a touch screen input for your pc.

you use the cable as a monitor output from your PC. the Latency is "pretty good" from the reviews I have watched, but dont expect it to be on par with a dedicated monitor. Would be great for having stuff like skype, or a stream while playing a game on your primary monitor.

I would have to upgrade to ios 8 to do so ,and apple won't let me update the OS.

It should work on ios 7 as well.

 

Edit: I'm realizing now that the 1st gen ipad probably can't run ios 7 either... Maybe look up other streaming software that goes over wifi, and see if it works on the version of ios your ipad is running.
