Hey Folks, were about a month before i buy the parts for my pc, and i still want to be sure about it before buying.
I'm located in Canada and most parts will be buy from Newegg.ca or NCIX.ca. The use of this PC will mostly (as
most people i guess) Is gaming, but some music creation and it will also be used as a Technical information search
PC for me and friend.
Will be overclocked.
another thing to note, i want a very reliable PC and ''Future Proof'' for gaming
Budget +/- 2500$ including peripherals (EDIT: AFTER Taxes (15%) and Shipping)

Sec Drive: 3x Western Digital RED 1tb  RAID5
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB
Case: Fractal Design R5 Black Windowed (Already bought)
Case Fan: Corsair AF120 (Already Bought)

"future proof" "AMD FX"

"reliable" "EVGA NEX"

yeah..no...

get yourself a skylake i5 or i7. and get a tower cooler instead of the watercooler, you'll think about me when you decide to get the watercooler anyways and if it breaks and kills your system 3 years down the road.

Go for Intel, or wait until Zen platform comes out.

Do you have a release date or approx for Zen platform?

You seem to have everything under control, so I can't recommend anything. As for the speaker, I find using a pair of high end headphones are better. Especially if there are people in your house who you don't want to bother.

already have a good pair of Sennheiser and Marshalls, i really want speakers lol

AMD Fx. why do everyone here hate it that much? on like 4forum no one said a bad thing about it, exepct here its intel or die? why would i change this AMD cpu to a intel (consider the price too)

Also Towercooler? what do you mean?

(Edit its 2500$ AFTER taxes and shipping. so you need to add a 15% to the price)

because amd FX's IPC (instructions per cycle) are an absolute joke compared to intel's recent offerings. with the added heat, and less than fantastic "8 cores" (which is honestly just 4 times 1.5 cores ducktaped together) its just not a futureproof platform.

it honestly worries me that a quad core 4690k can blow an fx8350 out the water in terms of encoding...

EDIT: ps, i should add, i'm not an intel fanboy in the slightest, i'm actually waiting on what zen is going to be, hoping it'll be my goto platform to build my new home server.

btw will that zen platform still on the same socket and same compatibility or totaly new stuff?

it'll be a new everything, see it as a fresh start for amd.

it'll be a fundamentally different chip in design, it'll use DDR4, it'll bring all the latest fancies to the amd platform, it'll be more energy efficient, and so on.
