For all that are skeptical of my SSD being faster than my monitor...

byalexandr

I mentioned a few times that my SSD boots into Windows faster than my monitor can turn on, and as you can see it's pretty damn close. I recorded the video in a pretty dark room so sorry for the noise and stuff. And btw, as soon as I log in everything is already usable, I don't have to wait any longer (even though the drive is 2/3 full now). WAY better than my old HDD.

And sorry for the mess, I'm working on modding my case. Specs are in the video's description as well as my signature, and I did install and set up UEFI booting.

Edit: This is a cold boot, not hybrid sleep, not sleep, not hibernating, etc. Cold boot. PC was completely shut down.

If my BIOS splashscreen weren't so slow, I'd be in a similar situation.

UEFI booting :)

I can't access the UEFI without a utility in Windows because it's so fast LOL

If you do the UEFI Fast Boot it cuts it out completely.

Mine's the same, by the time the thing is on I get a split second flash of the Windows logo and I'm at the lock screen. I also have an 850 EVO, maybe they're just stupid fast.

No, the UEFI doesn't show up, and as you can see the Windows loading screen doesn't show up either. To get into the UEFI I have to use a utility that AsRock made.

They are aren't they? Look at the difference between my shitty HDD:

New (I have the RAM caching enabled, so the speeds aren't exactly correct xD):

nice, tho there are fast monitors and slow ones, my old BenQ 144hz monitors are really slow, takes nearly 10s to turn on :P while my new x34 turns on right away within 1-2s

If you have an AsRock board you can download the Restart-to-UEFI utility from their website. Just search for your board and go to Downloads.

This one is an average I guess, like 5-7 seconds.

is that really a full windows boot or just a wake from sleep?

EDIT: it has to be a wake from sleep state since this motherboard splash screen alone will take longer than that.

Is that booting from Hybrid Sleep? If so im not surprised :P --- even after a full "shut down" Windows 10 will by default go into Hybrid Sleep not full shutdown.

No, the PC was unplugged since I was doing some stuff and then it sat for around an hour or so while I went to work on school stuff. I think it would clear any cache by then.
