answer to "can I re-use my windows license?"

coen113

hello

in the last few days, I saw a LOT of " can I re-use it" question post. the answer is yes, if you deactivate the first one. I.E. call Microsoft and ask them to deactivate it. I though this post might answer some questions.

additional information by  Godlygamer23:

For OEM licenses, you have to call Microsoft to reset it. For retail, you simply remove it from the PC and use it on another or the same one.

You know what, have have full retail licences and have had to ring up Microsoft and couple of times for minor hardware changes to activate no big deal, but i can see why people just get the activation hack these days its much less hassle.

Using oem in different system is bit more complicated than just calling to ms. It depends if its branded or not. For non-branded calling is viable option but not blesses scary. For branded its fifty-fifty. For some it works, others not.
