Fun fact, one of those chips only serve to verify that it is an Apple certified cable. Luckily for consumers, the authentication chip Apple forces into cables was cracked and now unauthorized cable makers can bypass the check. That's why unauthorized third party cables work at all. Apple tried to stop them from working but failed.

What current, apple phones charge at 5v 1a as far as I know, there is no current there. That's why it takes 150 minutes to charge iPhone 6s with it's amazing 1715mAh battery

There are plenty of good certified cheap cables on Amazon. 

 

Minot saying they shouldn't be charging as much as they do, but there are good certified alternatives.

At first glance it may look like some scheme only to get extra money out of you. This isn't the 100% truth, as some members have already explained in such a way that a monkey could understand.

 

Samsung and other manufacturers on the other hand will just let you go to town (not all the way but y'know) with what accessories that you use without giving you some block on the phone. Anyone remember that spoiled kid who slept with her Samsung phone under her pillow, only to have it overheat and start smoldering the pillow? They put a third-party battery in the phone, making it the family's fault for not reading the user manual, and not Samsung's fault for a "faulty battery".

 

The father even came out and said something stupid later on, like "I shouldn't have to read small text to understand that I can't use a third-party battery in my phone". Yeah, because being lazy about potentially causing bodily harm is a good idea to bitch about.

What are you on? It takes me under an hour to do a full Iphone 6s Plus charge. I am using the big brick so the full 2.1A

Apple is just Apple.If you buy an iPhone or any Apple product,you need to know where you are getting yourself in.The whole charging cable problem is huge,but Apple will do nothing because this brings them money.It's business.
