Does anyone know why minecraft doesn't even use 1/2 of my computers power? I could be getting like 600+ fps if it did. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

Because it's not coded very well. Why do you need 600+fps?

Get Optifine, allows it to take advantage of your hardware. Also, minecraft runs on 1 core, so...

1 the game is fps capped by default, people complained of it using too much resources (looking at you 6000 fps main menu) so they capped it, then added in an fps slider for setting a custom cap.

the game will only pull the resources it needs. if its only using 10%cpu and 20% gpu and your getting 100+ fps then you dont need anything more

Get Optifine, allows it to take advantage of your hardware. Also, minecraft runs on 1 core, so...

Why does it use 2 of my cores then? :P

Somethings run outside the main thread, such as plugins mods and maybe the launcher.

Because i can get 600+ fps and it wont load all 32 chunks like its supposed to

Chunks is a problem I suppose, although you can really see past like 25. Soooo dat epeen? Why make your machine work hard for the epeen?

Because you are using more electricty for epeen. Which is reaaaaaly dumb.
