this is a nice monitor, it's 27'' 1440p and it is IPS, it has a 4ms response time which is perfectly fine for gaming and it's below 400$

If you want to stick to the 25" form factor, I'd go with one of these two:

Both have very sexy slim bezels, and excellent stands unlike the Acer. The Dell scores excellently when it comes to input lag, so it's better for gaming; I couldn't find any information like that on the Asus.

it's not ''hoooooorible'' imput lag, it's averaaaaaage...it's a class 2 monitor according to TFT which means:

• Class 2) A lag of 16 - 32ms / One to two frames - moderate lag but should be fine for many gamers. Caution advised for serious gaming and FPS

It's almost twice what other monitors in a similar price bracket are. I'd say that's pretty bad.

The 25" Dell, for example, is about half that, and rated as a Class 1 monitor.

25'' 1440p i can't see many users using this happily without the use of a scaller for text in windows which as you probably know already doesn't work very well...especialy if you work with a wide variety of software if you do music or video editing and stuff it will quickly become a problem.

Haha, yes of course it's IPS. I don't think they bothered making 1440p TN panels until gaming and higher refresh rates came along.

The Dell is $30 more than the 25" model. Personally it's what I'd go for too, but if he wants 25", it's what he wants. It's not really our place to say it's wrong.

join the 96hz club, get a korean monitor, overclock it to 96hz. If ur lucky u might be able to reach 120hz! Sadly I can only get up to 100hz (without custom timings) ;(
