Tech Gifts for Non-techies Giveaway!

Hi,

It would be wonderful to gift my dad a new monitor. He currently has a really old HP 1440x900 monitor. It is really bad and he started to game so this would really improve his gaming experience (at least in my opinion).

(This is the UK version http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-XL2411Z-24-inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B00HZF2JWA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449773262&sr=8-1&keywords=benq+xl2411z).

Thanks for reading!

Merry Christmas.

I would love to give my mother a set of high quality Bose headphones. She's an audiophile, and lower quality headphones and earbuds drive her crazy. I would love to get her headphones that were reliable, comfortable, and great.

Thank you!

My Mom and Dad have a Denon stereo system with an Apple TV, Blu-Ray player, set-top box and some else media devices. The same as in Linus's old situation.

I'd like to buy them a Logitech Harmony remote with the receivers. They just really deserve it because they're my parents, like everyone else. They do (almost) everything for you, and when you need them they are there.

My dad's not much of a tech guy, he likes to watch movies from time to time on my computer so I thought I could get him a Huawei Honor 6 so he could use it to watch his own movies! :)
I have a Huawei one myself and I really love it so I hope I can share the love with him:)

My reason is actually similar to the reason Linus explained in the video. Recently my parents finally replaced their old CRT tv in, yes we still had a CRT in the livingroom in 2015. However my dad doesn't really like the sound, so for anything other than watching the news I get asked to connect his 20 year old speakers/amp, which he claims still have amazing sound, from his stereo system to the TV. Now for now while I still live at home, while it is annoying sometimes, I will be moving out soon...

So I'd like to give my dad some speakers for his tv. Now sound issn't really my niche, but this JBL soundbar seems to have very good reviews. So does this Pioneer soundbar. But as I said I'm not that techy myself when it comes to sound, so if anyone that reads this happens to know any other speakers that might be better or more worth it, feel free to to leave suggestions.

Happy early Christmas everyone

I would give mi dad a mini but semi-powerfull pc: Link, he is a tv series and movie lover, we used to have a big shelf full of VHS and DVD's, 8 years ago when i got into computers i bought a video capturing card and i ripped all of his VHS, then we bought a DVD optical unit for our pc and started ripping all of his DVD's, 2 years ago i bought him an inexpensive android tv box, and for playing his already ripped movies was ok, but now that i bought a Sony Vaio laptop with BluRay we started to rip his BluRay's and the android tv box stutters to play the 1080p MKV's, so it would be a perfect gift for him a mini pc, i have some DDR3 Ram and a new intel SSD wich i haven't used, i would install kodi and give him a Logitech Keyboard/Mousepad combo that i have, and this Holyday season, he would enjoy all his new movies in the TV without having my laptop connected.

Thanks for the giveaway and i'm a fan of what Linus Media Group has achieved

Hi Linus,

My Mom is really hard to reach in general, even after having a smartphone. Thinking it'll probably help to strap a smartwatch to her (She likes the idea of using a Fitbit, and this might be a step up) to more easily get a hold of her. As such, it'd be cool to have the chance to snag one of the ones you reviewed:

Thanks LTT!

I would like to give an SSD with large capacity to my Dad because his PC's hard disk is so slow and with this SSD he can save much time in his work using AutoCAD.

I would get a Philips hue bloom starter pack for my mom. She loves home decor and accent lights would add depth to some of the furniture in her house. Also they're slightly techie but if I get the Philips tap (light switch with 4 buttons for different colors & stuff) I think almost anyone could figure it out.

Defenetly a WD 6TB My Cloud Mirror Personal NAS for 299.99$.

My logic is, it will be a pain to configure at first, but in long term if they loose some HDD (or delete something by accident...) it will be much quicker if they have at least a backup.

I would buy my Grandma a Nvidia shield tablet, cuz she love watching movies.

Every time she visits us, I borrow my iPad with Netflix to her so she can use it. She also likes to play all theese grandma games like tic tac toe, and solitare, and iPads are expensive as f**k

I would get this UPS power strip for my mother. She has to sleep with a CPAP machine, and the wiring and power at her house is super sketch.
