[AUS] Dick Smith Liquidation

Guest

Hi guys,

I can't give you specific links as it's all pretty much in store only however they are clearing all of their stock. Yesterday you could get a Canon 700D twin lens kit for $299. Tomorrow will be notebooks and speakers. Today was TV's & consoles + iPad's. Shortly going to be picking up an iPad Mini 3 32GB for $199 and an iPad 2 16GB for $98.

EDIT: Back story behind it is that due to a downturn in sales, DSE had to re-evaluate their inventory value and overall they'd lost $60mil. End of Q2 they took large credits to buy stock in anticipation of a large Q3 however that didn't happen. They need to now start paying creditors back and don't have the money to.

I didn't trust the site until I saw a mod posted this.  O.o

I wouldn't use authority as a reason to necessarily trust something. While we(hopefully) wouldn't post anything that would scam users or otherwise affect them negatively, we always have room to be wrong.

Buying from dick smith online from NZ is a nono, have terrible reviews (http://pricespy.co.nz/shop.php?f=7583). I had a bad experience a few years ago when buying a laptop, turned out they didn't have it in stock. I would only buy from dick smith in store. Rounding up, buy in store not online.(Somewhat off topic, but my personal view of Dick Smith)

Deals are in store only anyway.

Going to go down now and look for a decent TV (to replace my terrible Dick Smith branded TV) but I don't have a real store here.

OzBargain is usually pretty good for deals. The place where I work used to post the occasional deal there too.

Some of the deals were online as well, they started being posted online yesterday.

I was lucky on that one. Currently in Sydney working for the Holidays and got a mate in Townsville to go and grab it. Nothing much was in Sydney, or at least I was to slow at getting to stores on my work lunch breaks.

Might want to add to the OP that the Tech part of David Jones stores is run by Dick Smith, therefore they have the sales as well.

Mostly everything is gone by this point, you may find some cheap ones, but probably not worth buying. Saturday might have something though. Pretty sure it's going to be 70% off everything left (old stock that is).
