Posted August 24, 2013 Author in my opinion lga 1156 socket is still good for mid end gaming if you get the cpu and mobo combo for a good price. for example i got an antec tp-550 80PLUS bronze semi modular psu+ intel core i5 760+ mobo(p7h55/usb3) and 4gb ddr3 1333mhz ram all for only $100 ABOUT 6 months ago from my friend. i was going to go with the newer sandy bridge dual core i3 but the older quad core i5 won by a lot in benchmarks. and my 1156 i5 overclocks to 4ghz easily 4.2GHZ VALIDATION, GALLERY, Most expensive software you own (clicky thread) Intel Core i5 760 2.8GHZ @3.3ghz(4C),Asus P7H55/USB3,Antec TP550 80+bronze,Gigabyte GTX 570 SOC@955/2120 1050MV,windows 3.1,8GB DDR3 1333MHZ @~1450mhz,,500gb hdd, 160gb
 Posted August 24, 2013 I gave my friend my old 1156 build with an i3-540. but I don't think it's old enough to have to upgrade now. people don't give newer CPU's the credit they deserve.
