FX9590 Overclocking

It's the same CPU you already have.

It's not 5Ghz. It's 4,7GHz. That is a difference. You guys fell for AMD marketing. they should try to invest more into research and not into advertising, only idiots would buy 9590 for anything more than 250$ if you can get Xeon e3-1230v3 I7 for that price.

He only bought it cause the prices dropped so much, he already has the motherboard and if he has the money to blow why not? It must be fun to have a chip with the possibility to go so far...

Not so fun if for same money you can have faster CPUs at stock with far more OC headroom. Or almost same money, idk it's not dropped price everywhere, and even when it drops, something like 300 pounds is still 2000PLN and for 2000~~ PLN i can get Sandy Bridge Extreme 3930k.

You cant argue with me over this one, AMD blew everybody who bought FX 8350 in the first place up. They hoped to get a golden chip in the lottery but AMD decided to get control of the lottery and overprice HEAVILY the golden chips.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

CPU: Phenom II x6 1045t ][ GPU: GeForce 9600GT 512mb DDR3 ][ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P ][ RAM: 2x4GB Kingston 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 ][ HDD: Western Digital Green 2TB ][ PSU: Chieftec 500AB A ][ Case: No-name without airflow or dust filters Budget saved for an upgrade so far: 2400PLN (600€) - Initial 2800PLN (700€) Upgraded already: CPU

well :/ getting an i5+mobo will bring you to around 300 if you get a half decent board and that's not even taking into account getting an ROG like he has o.o I think the 9590 is faster than the i5... (still not single core but meh) & tbh it's exactly the same as the 2700k, golden cpus for the end of life; Steamroller is imminent.

What kind of power are you consuming under load? im curious

Nice Overclock! Please post a cinebench result if you can :)

Problem is that everything in my set-up Computer, Monitors, Servers, Routers & Switich are all connected to a APC3000 UPS and my Watt Brick is connected to that, so I only have the combined power usage of the hole lot combined but..

So here are the figures hope your sitting down...

APC ON, NAS server ON, everything else off... 158W +/- 3

PC ON, 3 Monitors ON, booted into windows left for 5 Min & idling... 372W  +/-10 then Running Prime 95.... 572W +/- 10

Monitors are 25 ish watts, say take of 80 for all 3

Approximate Idle 134W

Approximate 100% Load 334W :D

PS

Will post a Cinebench later today....

Please push it more ! I want to see 5.5Ghz+ that would really be fantasticle !

How much voltage (in BIOS) is it using at stock ?

I will don't worry watch this space...

Idle 1.088 to 1.296

Load 1.380 to 1.452

Same architecture yes, but its In my mind no different from Intel charging more money for a K processor? So look at it like this FX9590 is the FX8350K...

Its 4.7Ghz with 5Ghz Turbo...

And thanks for calling me an Idiot, because believe me I am far from it,  but luckily I don't take offence from narrow minded people who cant help being special...

I regret to inform you that I have been having fun... I was unlikely to buy the FX9590 at £700 but with that offer on Aria, for £300 why the hell not...

Again its no different from Intel offering a K processor they have to keep all the good ones for K "Fully unlocked" and sell the other as "Limited Unlocked".

that really not that much voltage considering the speed that it is running at. its literally like a cherry picked chip with super low volts needed for loads of ghz.  B) . that cinebench score is pretty bad though

How is that a bad cinebench score? The only things scoring higher are the 8 core xeons and those things cost an arm and a leg to buy.

We'll my FX8350 pinned to the rail @ 5Ghz got 8.59?

And my FX8350 standard got 6.91

So 8.71 is not that bad considering...

That's really amazing I can only get 4.4-4.5Ghz on that low of a voltage on my 8320.

The FX-9590 and 9370 AND the 8350 are the -exact- reasons why you can't get a better result with 8320. Higher binned, better OC headroom -almost- guaranteed especially since the golden chips are 9590.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

The FX 9000 series will eventually replace the 8000 series when the process matures even further.

LOL you really believe they got more than few hundred cherry picked CPUs that can do 4,7GHz on Air? Haha this is nothing but a FX-83xx tested thoroughly and rebadged and added price tag from the SPAAAAAAAAAAAACE so amd die hard fans can feed mighty AMD's pocket.

This is just FX 83xx.

Of course they do, otherwise they would not be able to sell them for 400 dollars each.

The FX 9000 series is similar to Richland in that they can achieve higher clocks with lower voltages, they will inevitably replace the eight core 8300 series processors.

I really don't see why people are all up in arms about this, this guy has bought a FX9590 and is having a laugh with it, he's enjoying himself, of course he could've bloody bought himself an X79 MB and a 3930k but did he?, no, of course he didn't, does he know he could've, of course he knows, bloody hell..

Thanks for sharing your power consumption results. That system is power hungry to say the least lol. Hopefully AMD works on improving their performance \ watt in the future.

I was hoping you score over 9.5 in cinebench, i guess this may require 6.0GHz or more..... Intel still dominates the 300.00 cpu zone.

thanks for posting on your 9590 experience  as this chip is highly anticipated amongst  enthusiasts and trolls alike.
