4k or 144hz 1440p?

Someamericanguy

Wondering if the difference between 1440p and 4k is worth limiting fps to 60 on a 4k rather than 144 on a 1440p. I'm currently using a 1440p 144hz monitor and am interested in going into 4k. Is there a very noticeable jump between 1440p and 4k? Would it be worth it to drop the 60+fps for the quality of 4k? My build could probably run high settings 4k ~60fps.

well..

if you mainly play games go with the higher refresh rate

if you like quality and do photo and video editing I would recommend the 4k

I have a 4k and I am really happy with it and would choose it again and again....

If money isn't an issue you should really consider the x34 predator from acer...

I've gone from the Asus RogSwift PG278q to the x34 and god it was worth it.

144hz 1440p is better than 4k imo.

ASUS PG279Q if money isnt an issue.

I would rather run 144fps all the time at 1440p than being limited to 60hz. Having experienced what 60hz and 144hz feels like, 144hz is way better. SO SMOOTH

4k korean 40-43 inch much better windows scaling then 27 inch screens.

More immersive if large screens dont scare you

AND you can sell your 980ti's for Fury X's to use the freesync on the panels :P

disregard if you are a CS pro in which case MOAR FRAMES 144hz.

God I would buy that monitor, but they're all sold out. Hopefully I can get one on the next manufacture wave.

I personally think 144hz is a higher quality improvement than 1440->4k. Smoothness matters more than a moderate improvement in pixel density. 4k doesn't yet eliminate the need for AA, you still get shimmer issues.
