Best anti-virus for a gamer

Hi all,

 

So after years of not running an anti virus i figured that with my new build i probably should as some days i get all kinds of weird shit on my computer. 

 

What would you all recommend i get? Since i live in NZ and most of you dont it might be better suggesting one i could buy and download

Like others have said, go with Avast (free version). Make sure you go in settings and turn off the sound though, its annoying as hell.

Best antivirus for a gamer? Last i checked, anti viruses are anti viruses, nothing meant for gamers..

 

Best FREE : Microsoft Security Essentials (NOT Avast)

Best PAID : BitDefender, Norton (really underrated, most false positives are with cracked software), Kaspersky

I like AVG free. But there are other good ones as mentioned above in this thread.

 

I also don't believe in running heavy enterprise-grade security solutions at home. Some basic protection that does not bog down your pc will do; apart from that backup your data and use common sense.

I use Norton Internet Security 2013 and MalwareBytes PRO. Norton has improved lately and it uses 0% of my cpu.

That makes perfect sense. Have you looked at it from task manager rather than the Norton UI?
