Hi I have recently purchased a i7-4790k and the 6700k and dropped in price and I just wanted clarification, is the i7-4790k still really good? Thanks :)

It's still a good CPU for gaming. If you're using it for editing or rendering you can consider upgrading

He shouldn't even consider upgrading to the 6700K if he already has the 4790k. The performance difference in rendering is like 10% tops - not worth a ~ $500 "upgrade".

 

OP - I have the 4790K it is still relevant, It is still competitive with the 6700K because of the price difference between the platforms.

the i7-4790k is still good, better for the money than the i7-6700k imo because it has cheaper boards and cheaper ram :)
