Uh, I got my Lighting 290X for free from a giveaway AMD did during the 970 3.5GB VRAM frenzy.. Does that count?

Otherwise, I just bought a Netgear Nighthawk + Logitech C920 for $200. That's pretty good I think considering you can go to Best Buy and buy a Netgear Nighthawk alone for $200.

Don't think a giveaway counts

If we include free things, I got a free i7 4771.  It's in one of my son's computers.  Most of the SSDs he and I have were also free.

If we exclude free things, last year I bought an R9 290 for $180.  It's in my son's other computer.

I got an Antec Neo Eco 620C for $23 on a newegg shell shocker last year. Pretty ridiculous price for a rebranded Seasonic S12-II 620. Nice and quiet too.

My deal of a lifetime was a system from a pawnshop a few years ago, a friends girlfriend worked there and they had a custom built pc that wouldn't power on and I was told they'd sell it cheap to recover some of their money.  I was told it was completely fried so without even removing a side panel I offered $50 for it because it was in a Lian Li case so I figured worst case I'd have a great cheap case for a future server build and ended up walking out with it for $75 +tax.  Turns out it was just a dead off-brand PSU and everything else was in great shape.

For $83 I ended up with the following,

i7 2600k

Asus P8Z68

GTX 660

8Gb Crucial RAM

Lian Li V1000B

3 HDD's

We ended up building my son a pc with most of the parts and with the recent addition my old 7970 it's still a great 1080p gaming rig.
