Says it all. This is a pretty damn good deal, and the reviews on it look very good.

 

1080p IPS display.

 

The ssd is nothing special but it's an M.2 so you can add your own extra one in the unused 2.5 bay. Also interesting to people looking for upgradablilty, the 8gb is a single dimm so you can go for 16 down the road as well.

 

Only US though.

That's a confusing name.  O.o  The title says i7, but the specs says i5.  xD

Up until this generation mobile i5's and a good portion of the i7's have been dual core hyper threaded so even though it is labeled as a i5 I would think of it as performing in the middle of the i7's between the dual core HT and the true quad cores. 

 

But with that being said I am sure someone saw HQ and automatically thought i7 and typed it wrong...

 

edit: I dont see it labeled i7 anywhere?

It is an I5 quad core. The first generation that has occurred on mobile.

It does not have hypertheading.

The title is correct.

That is the name of the laptop not the processor.

There is no I7559 processor

I7 skylake is labeled I7-67xx or I7-68xx.

Sorry that it was confusing, but that is just you not reading it correctly.

You missed the point. It's a confusing name.

How? It doesn't fit the Intel naming scheme at all (it doesn't even come close), and it's a clear representation of the Inspirion 7000 series line from Dell.

That's like saying the iPhone 6 and the Galaxy s6 are confusing because they both contain a 6.

They see i next to a 7, and they're likely going to assume i7.

And hence you see an i next to a word and assume it's apple? Isn't that so 2000s?

This is better than any black friday deal I've seen personally, but feel free to try either way.

 

800 dollars with a 256GB ssd is pretty unheard of, and this has a really good CPU (and mid range mobile gpu) as well.
