dont preorder, the only game i have preordered in the last two years was city skylines, but thats because i got to watch it on twitch because they gave it to streamers early. i dont trust devs enough to take blind leaps into games i also dont like the idea of buying things before you can get them as it fuels negative buisness practices where its all about the presales and not the post sales

You know what I was saying :lol: , with every EA game you can't walk into a gas station without seeing the game being released everywhere. With Fallout you almost have to go looking for it, like you just had to do

I never pre-order. I usually wait a few months then purchase. That way I have a great experience!

i only pre-ordered fallout 4 because GMG was offering it for $40  though the question is if they'll be able to get the keys to everyone before the release date and still be able to pre-load it on steam..

Fallout 4 is the only game I have pre-ordered in over a year, I guess it's because I'm such a huge fan of Bethesda more than anything. Having Morrowind as one your first PC games will do that to you.

What it's done is allow the developer to make sure to have enough copies of their game so you don't have fans going without, and scalpers selling copies at inflated prices. With everything going to digital all it does is allow lazy people like me to make sure they have the money for the game when it launches. Where this hate for pre ordering came from I'd love to know.

It's mostly the fault of EA, WB, and Ubisoft releasing trash games on launch and not fixing them, this was before steam refund minus arkham knight, prorders allow for devs to release games with problems that no one knows about

Except for the fact that pre-ordering equals guaranteed money for the developer. They make sales often before there are any reviews of the game that may give away a crap title. Arkham Knight is a prime example of this.

Yes but the game was finished at release, during pre-order the game isn't finished yet.

Physical copies have the ability to be returned that was the difference, before steam's new return policy you were screwed if the game was a mess.

Not for the most part here in the states, you opened it so it was yours. All you could do was trade it in. That gave rise to Gamefly.

But future sales rely on repeat buyers. Business 101 my friend. Sure companies like EA can turn out shit and the fans come back for more, but the little guys have to produce. And EA will turn out shit whether you pre order or not.

I've returned games before, though I usually did so under the guise that the game was "broken"
