I've returned games before, though I usually did so under the guise that the game was "broken"

I too used that trick on many occasions. Don't get me wrong, I'm completely sick with anger over the present state of the industry. My average spending on games a month WAS around 120usd. I completely stopped buying games. The last new game I bought was Witcher 3. Before that GTA V on console. I play mostly F2P, and only buy when it is earned.

 

But Fallout 4 isn't hyped anywhere near the level of the latest EA title, and pre ordering isn't the issue. It's the sales AFTER everyone knows there's no value that count.

Oh, don't misunderstand me, I have confidence in bethesda, they haven't made me regret any of their games I've bought. It's just kinda said how many people preorder ordinary copies is all, though I trust bethesda more than any other games studio to make a game I'd like.

I'm scared shitless :lol: I know it's Fallout and even bad Fallout is fallout (tactics wasn't Fallout), but it could still go south. For me it's a selfish purchase, based as you say off a proven track record of games with some serious playtime value.

Personally I just don't like pre ordering nowadays. Although I have to admit I would probably pre order Elder Scrolls 6

If the devlopers have a good record on previous titles which you enjoyed, i dont see why it is a bad thing to pre-order a game from the same guys on the same franchise which you like/love...
