How much is the highest cpu clock frequency did you reach in overclocking it?

i3 are all locked. You cannot overclock them.

I OC'ed my 3220 from 3.3Ghz to 3.465Ghz, BCLK increase.   :P

Ya, but it's really annoying to get it stable if you mess with the BCLK, really no point in it as the benefits you get are not actually high and BCLK tinkering may fry multiple components in your rig.

OC'ed since march this year. No hardware issues so far  :D

Yes you can. Heineygoat oc'd a 3770 non k to 4.2 stable on all cores.

i hate it when people think overclocking can be done by only increasing multiplier NO. bclk is still an option, high or not if your cpu is running over stock speeds then its overclocked

Still a crappy overclock. And I can still pick up a 6300 or 6350 for slightly less than a i3 and take that bad boy up to 4.5 and beyond, something BCLK wont be able to do for you.

if the person wanted to overclock yes i would tell him to get fx8350 or fx6350

if the person wanted to game i would suggest him i3 AND if this person later on wanted to overclock i would direct him to baseclock overclock still extra 200mhz is extra 200mhz

Suggesting an i3 over either of the 6 core fx units is crazy. Even the 4150 is a more logical choice than an i3.

this again?... i would suggest intel over fx series for gaming,development because:

not every app and game is optimized for bulldozer or piledriver modules; FX4150 has 2 modules with each 2 piledriver cores BUT it still performs worse than i3 in games because i3's single core completes a task faster and moves in to next load faster(this is when hyper threading comes to help) but fx4150 takes same load as 3220 but it takes longer to process each task and thats when fx series loose competition over intel's single threaded performance (and intels c++ compiler also runs slower on amd this has been proved) in gaming

You can't tell me that an extra 200mhz would show any real improvement, I hardly noticed any difference between stock clocks and 4.5ghz while gaming.

i can. 3570k 3.4ghz bf3 = fps dips down to 40s and visual studio 2010 is respoding slower 

         3570k 4.2 bf3 = fps is always above 70 no dips under 70 and visual studio responds and loads faster...

but as i stated before 200mhz is still an overclock and your minimum fps' will be higher even if you wont notice

u can oc them you dont need a unlocked processor to oc. The only different with an unlocked process or is that the mutiplier is unlocked. On a standard proc there are still a few multiplier steps above the standard turbo.

I don't play BF3, on the games I play with the rig listed in my sig I never noticed a difference. I lock my fps to 60 anyways  but I never see anything below 60 in anything I play with my cpu overclocked or not.

Overclocking an i3-3220 is kind of pointless. If you want overclockability for the pricerange might as well go for AMD

200 mhz nowadays is quite a meaningless OC.

Exactly, I give no f**cks about benching so after I didn't notice a difference I reverted back to stock clocks. Sure it was cool to see how high of an OC I could get but I stopped once I was hitting a 75c load temp. My monitor only has a 60hz refresh rate and I don't need any more than 60 so I just lock it and crank the eye candy.

Thats what you should  be doing for the most part. If your a super competitive gamer or a pro I usually see them with as low a graphics as they can stand and no vsync. They also usually have a higher than 60hrz monitor if they can.

I'd love to have a 120hz monitor but it would be more for lulz than anything else because like I said 60fps is fine.

True but as it stands 60 is fine, it would be just like my 2nd 660 Ti, I didn't need it it was for lulz.
