gtx 970 and skylake?

ben dover kid

so i have been posting before because i was going to upgrade my system, but i didnt at that time, sooo... my msi geforce gtx 970 4g does about 60-85 fps on bf4(1080p) on "easy" graphics(im not sure if it was called easy, but the shittiest graphics). cpu is amd a10 6800k not oc:d . so i was thinking about buying skylake and new mobo. i5 6500, i5 6400? price difference is 20euros(which is about 22 us dollars). i think gtx 970 should bang 60 fps on ultra graphics, but my system definitely doesent, so something is fishy. why my gtx sucks so much? because of my cpu?

yes your CPU is weak and its bottlenecking your performance

and btw your "easy" is actually called "low" graphics settings :)

I'd go for an i5-4460 and a h81 or h97 motherboard, it would be the cheapest most effective upgrade you could do.

An i5 would be best you don't need a k model but something like the 4460 would do

Read the fine print. It's a fine card, but a 390 will beat it by a small margin. Don't worry about it; the 970 is a great card.

If you hadn't done it, someone else would have.  It was just a matter of time.
