I think it will, though it could end up being a huge letdown, just like episode I :P

Opening weekend it will likely have world record sales. After that, it will do well, but I don't think it will get to highest grossing film. Too many people don't like the series.

The general rule of thumb is, a sequel will always do better than the original on opening weekend, but will almost never out sell it.

99.9999999999% chance it is highest grossing movie of all time. Highest grossing movie of all time is basically a yearly record these days.

The real question is if it will be the highest grossing movie of all time adjusting for inflation...

Which is still a 95% chance given that the original Star Wars is number 2.

I suppose it will, even though it is the SECOND BEST 2 word franchise that starts with Star. :P

The real question is, does it matter? Just because it makes a large profit at box office doesn't mean it's any good. Besides, everyone knows War Horse is the best movie ever  ^_^

I'm cautiously optimistic... but I remember the hype train around SW: Episode 1 and seeing pictures of Darth Maul and how cool he looked... then I watched the movie and got an eye full and an ear full of Jar Jar...

I suppose I shouldn't have expected much after the re-release of SW in the late 90's and all the changes George Lucas made to the original film (which was fine the way it was).

lol I'm not just talking about the one in the trailer. In star wars rebels ezra has some stupid gun light saber combo and inquisitor has a random spinning light saber wheel of death

I think it's going to be good. But lets be honest, as long as it's better than 1-3 we'll all be happy.

No way it will be better than the original three.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs
