The game will probably lag a bit, even with your amazing setup.

I have one 980 Ti and I often go below 30 FPS.

Can't tell if shitpost or not.

I think it is.

Seeing how I can max skyrim out at 1080p with 80+ mods, getting 60+ FPS with a 970, you'll be fine.

I think you will be fine. Haven't modded in a long time though. But you might need to fix settings and such. Also make sure the mods don't interfear with eachother.

Should be able to get stable 60fps if you are not going too insane

Really the main thing that causes performance drops in modded skyrim is the super detailed textures, so really it depends on the level of detail in what ever texture mod you use, and I'm sure that no system on earth can handle certain mod configs.

well.. a while back i saw a guy play modded skyrim in class on a macbook air, on battery.

and it rain fairly well from the looks of it.

i think its more so a "depends on what kind of mods you're intending on running"

modding skyrim is like modding minecraft, with no mods i can hit 1000FPS, with mods i've dropped below 15 before :/

Your idea of a heavily modded game might be my idea of a minimum/base installation. Many of the limits are down to what the engine can handle just as much as your system specs. Base on the info you've given, the correct answer is yes / no / possible *delete as appropriate *.

Base on the info you've given, the correct answer is yes / no / possible *delete as appropriate *. It really depends how far you want to push it, but your system specs should handle a fairly heavy load with decent results. That said, a combination of heavily scripted mods will or won't work pretty much on the whim of the gods.

Just remember, sometimes Skyrim can and will crash simply because it doesn't give a shit.

Maybe try starting off with a 2k palate and add 4k accent pieces as you move along?  Like 4k followers, armour, weapons, etc.  The things that tend to grab your attention more instead of 4k'ing all the things.  It'll be a canvas that you chip away at and evolves with your play over time, like any work of art or labour of love.

@MrZany did you change your ugrids?

Entirely depends on ENB settings and what other graphics mods you run.

I will say, be prepared to diagnose crashes and such, seeing as you said this is your first time modding Skyrim. It's certainly not as easy as just installing and playing. Something as simple as a texture mod that changes one plant can conflict with other mods, causing CTDs when entering specific cells and such.

I'm not trying to scare you or anything, just be prepared to spend some time diagnosing things like that.

I recommend you install LOOT if you haven't already, and maybe watch Gopher's Skyrim videos, which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/user/GophersVids/playlists

The dude is a bit long winded, but if you're thinking about installing a mod, he probably has a video describing and showcasing exactly how to get it running correctly.

"A picture is starting to form here... I wonder if it's accurate? Some pieces don't quite seem to fit. Or maybe I just don't like the way it looks."
