Planning a little ahead

Okay so like I want to make a folding machine down the road.  Just CPU folding not GPU folding so I am gonna forgo the GPU all together.  What would worst best, something like an FX-6300 or an I3-3220?  I don't want to overclock it because I want it to fold 24/7 :).

My PC: CPU: I7-2600K CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Evo, Mother Board: MSI Z77 Mpower, Ram: 4x4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Corsair Vengeance (Black), Case: HAF 932, PSU: CM GX 650 (Upgrading to RM750 soon), SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 120GB SSD, HD:  750GB Seagate 7200 RPM, Optical: Samsung Blu-ray burner, GPU: MSI GTX 560 TI Twin Frozr (Upgrading to an HD R9-290X on launch)

Why wouldn't you want to GPU fold? isnt it much more effective?

more cores = better so fx6300 is better (get the piledriver cpu by the not bulldozer)

cpu = 80w

7850 = 200w (with oc)

so i dont know but main reason seems to be bill's lol

Yeah thats true but the gpu generally completes WU much faster than the CPU so i think its worth it

Both cpu and gpu can fold at same time yes.
