Electronics like this (if from a reputable manufacture) are designed to operate at ridiculously higher temps than any of our routers are likely running at. ;)

People sell these coolers because people are stupid enough to buy them.

You guys are crazy. You know you guys are self-destructive. There's a funny farm somewhere and it's got your names written all over it. But I'm gettin' outta here.

That's funny... I've been using my Apple AirPort Extreme for more than a year now and I have never been anywhere near problems with it, that goes for both heat related and non-heat related problems. So yes you can just buy a good router and run that. Let the hate commence.

 

I've tried many "high end" routers. The Airport series are by FAR the most reliable i've used so far. Also the most expensive! lol

You didn't read what I said at all. NO YOU CAN'T not over here. ISP's block the use of your own router, its against the Terms of Service. They have the right to disconnect your internet service if you connect a non supplied router.
