depends on what you can afford - even a 980ti would be good

I'd go for a 950 or if you want to spend more a 380

What is a good but cheap GPU I could get for my build? http://www.3dmark.com/3dmv/5326199

I'm thinking a MSI Nvidia Geforce GTX 950...

Don't bother with a cheap GPU.. save some money get something that is decent and that will do a good job like the 970!

Seriously though, save up for something like a 380 if you really want a good performance boost.

Are MSI's good? Or EVGA or anything...

EVGA has great customer service.  MSI, EVGA, Asus, and Gigabyte all deliver good cards.  I'm partial to EVGA due to my positive experiences with their customer service, but it isn't as if the other options are worse.

GTX 970****

Check every benchmarck on them, then check back.

Oooh, Battlefront's bechmarks ring a bell. Boy, I wonder which is better.. (BTW the 290 beats the 970 in them)

I have the GTX 950 and I'm very pleased. As long as you are trying to play at a decent framerate (30+ fps) on 1080p with settings somewhere between medium and ultra (depending on the game) it is a great card. I have the Evga and so far I am really content.

Just to point out, the GTX 970 is the best price to performance gpu, and the driver support is x3 better. Only people who are not your friends let you buy AMD. and please make a logical decision and stop being a fanboy :)

Battlefront doesn't count, since it is a beta.

Maybe look at crysis, and BF4 and even oh i don't know nearly every game on that market that has been out for at least a year :)

BF4 it is better. Chrisis it is better.

The R9 390 is cheaper in the US, too. Also, the driver support doesn't suck, I still get drivers for my 7970 (also performing as good as my friend's 960 STRIX.)

The 15.9.1 beta driver is awesome, and I don't need a "game ready" driver to download every single new release.

I even said, buy the 950 instead of the 370, I'm no fanboy. But, in price/performance, the 390 is just better.

r9 290(x) for $200 is the best value gpu on the market. In all the new games the 290 series consistently beats the 780 series and can sometimes match a 980 if you overclock and depending on the game
