Why not half your budget? You'll still have enough for an amazing gaming rig now, and when the new hardware comes out and you want the next top of the line, you'll be able to buy that too.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

I know that. What I am asking for is for som guidance of somthing that mind be obvious to some or people having an idear about is coming out soon due to rumors/infomation I may not have, or even simple knowlgede of the shipping system. - Thanks for saying my build is fine, but its mostly if its a bad time buying into high end "the best stuff".

Please post if got somthing to add to the table, " A buy now or don't is good" but it would be awesome if people left details to why. If they can't its fine too, any infomation or feedback is good in my book. Maybe I should see a Witcher Doctor to know the future Aytex? Hehe! ;)

The new stuff will be better. Of course. That's how it works. But it won't really make yours obsolete.

Though, it's worth noting we really have no idea how Pascal will perform. If you've waited this long already, what's a few more months?

On another note, you can make a better choice than the 5960x or it's predecessor. I know this isn't to discuss your hardware choices, but honestly, I highly highly doubt you'll notice any performance gain. You could easily put the money somewhere else in the system, such as PCI-e SSD (though that too is debatable), or just save it for headphones/monitor/peripherals upgrades.

OP, it doesn't matter how high you buy. It's going to be obsolete within a few months. If it's just a few weeks til release, I'd tell you to wait, but loud rumors are still rumors.

Buy as high-end as you can comfortably afford and that will do.

Adults are just kids with bigger wallets.

If your "Just gaming" a skylake 6700k and a 980 ti is fine... 5960x and x99 are IMO for people who render/edit alot

The question is not about my choice of hardware, but about if its going to be obsolete fast, due to Pascal/Broadwell. Or if its going to be a while before we see any of those. Like if its Q3 its a looong wait, if its Q1 its another story.. but a drag still, but more manage able.

Please read the articel about the obsolete thing, please! Its not my opinion but somthing I read and wish adressed.

Depends how patient you are. None of us really have insider knowledge. All we have is speculations.

Remember the 5960x and 980 ti is a question. Not a thing I claim or truely belive, cause I don't freaking hope so. Its the articel, along with the new "Broadwell/6960x" coming thing, along with Pascal that worries me and makes me question if they are a viable purchase right now :D

:o What does that make my 750 ti??

Join the Appleitionist cause! See spoiler below for answers to common questions that shouldn't be common!

Spoiler

Q: Do I have a virus?!
A: If you didn't click a sketchy email, haven't left your computer physically open to attack, haven't downloaded anything sketchy/free, know that your software hasn't been exploited in a new hack, then the answer is: probably not.

Q: What email/VPN should I use?
A: Proton mail and VPN are the best for email and VPNs respectively. (They're free in a good way)

Q: How can I stay anonymous on the (deep/dark) webzz???....

A: By learning how to de-anonymize everyone else; if you can do that, then you know what to do for yourself.

Q: What Linux distro is best for x y z?

A: Lubuntu for things with little processing power, Ubuntu for normal PCs, and if you need to do anything else then it's best if you do the research yourself.

Q: Why is my Linux giving me x y z error?

A: Have you not googled it? Are you sure StackOverflow doesn't have an answer? Does the error tell you what's wrong? If the answer is no to all of those, message me.

Change title cause half of you don't read the post, but only its title or simply only focus on what I said to drawn attetion to article somone wrote. Its not my opinion or view, I am just worried if it was true or not, and if buying a 5960x now is a bad idear due to the stories of new cpu's coming out.
