That i3 is not overclockable AFAIK, so forget about that unless you upgrade later to something like an i5 4690K. That PSU isn't the best, an EVGA/XFX/Seasonic unit might be in order, especially if you want to OC in the future.

Project White Lightning (My ITX Gaming PC): Core i5-4690K | CRYORIG H5 Ultimate | ASUS Maximus VII Impact | HyperX Savage 2x8GB DDR3 | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB | WD Black 1TB | Sapphire RX 480 8GB NITRO+ OC | Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ITX | Corsair AX760 | LG 29UM67 | CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate | Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum | HyperX Cloud II | Logitech Z333

Benchmark Results: 3DMark Firestrike: 10,528 | SteamVR VR Ready (avg. quality 7.1) | VRMark 7,004 (VR Ready)

Other systems I've built:

Core i3-6100 | CM Hyper 212 EVO | MSI H110M ECO | Corsair Vengeance LPX 1x8GB DDR4  | ADATA SP550 120GB | Seagate 500GB | EVGA ACX 2.0 GTX 1050 Ti | Fractal Design Core 1500 | Corsair CX450M

Core i5-4590 | Intel Stock Cooler | Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI | HyperX Savage 2x4GB DDR3 | Seagate 500GB | Intel Integrated HD Graphics | Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 | be quiet! Pure Power L8 350W

If you meant decent overclocking on the CPU, you can't, it's a locked CPU. You need a CPU that has "K" on the end, like a I5-4690K.

I've heard not-so-great things about the Corsair CX series.

For the price of a 950, you can sometimes find a better AMD card for the same price (you can get a 285 for $200 here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150720&cm_re=R7_290x-_-14-150-720-_-Product)

I am conducting some polls regarding your opinion of large technology companies. I would appreciate your response.

Microsoft Apple Valve Google Facebook Oculus HTC AMD Intel Nvidia

I'm using this data to judge this site's biases so people can post in a more objective way.

also, what does AFAIK mean?

My rig: Intel Core i7-8700K OC 4.8 | NZXT Kraken X62 | ASUS Z370-F | 16 GB Trident Z RGB 3000 (2x8) | EVGA 1070 SC | EVGA SuperNova NEX650G1 | NZXT H700 | Samsung 250GB 850-EVO | 2x 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDDs

-snip-

As thinkwithportals said, youll need an i54690K to do any OC.

The PSU will be OK for that GPU, but if you want to get a better GPU in the future, AND still be able to OC it, I would go with something a little bit better.

The SSD you chose for some reason gets hated on by everyone on this forum but I have deployed at least 8 of them over the last 2 years and have never had a problem. That being said, there are better/faster ones for not a lot more $$.

EDIT: Also make sure to get an aftermarket CPU coler if you plan on OC'ing it at all. Even something like a hyper 212 would be much better than the stock intel one.

When in doubt, re-format.

Memory: Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL9 XMP Performance Desktop Memory Kit Black

RAM is RAM. Don't get this if it's a lot more than other 8GB kits.

Cpu: Intel i3 4150 Dual Core CPU (3.50GHz, 3MB Cache, 54W, Graphics, Virtualization Technology, Socket 1150)

Not overclockable. Decent if you're on a budget though, I just picked one up myself.

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CXM 500W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU

Don't get a CX, they're not that great.

GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GTX 950 SuperClock+ 2 GB with ACX 2.0 Cooling PCI-E Graphics Card

OS: Windows 10

Cooling: ARCTIC F12 - 120 mm

Waste of money.

Storage: WD 1TB Desktop SATA Hard Drive - OEM - Green

Go for a Blue. Much better performance. IIRC they're fazing out Green.

Storage: Kingston Technology 240GB Solid State Drive 2.5-inch V300 SATA 3

Don't get a V300. Awful SSD. Get something like a Fury, EVO, MX200, etc.

Thanks for any help,

SuperD_7

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU ( for some reason cheaper than 500W?)

GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GTX 950 SuperClock+ 2 GB with ACX 2.0 Cooling PCI-E Graphics Card OS: Windows 10

Cooling: Corsair Air Series AF120-LED 120mm Quiet Edition High Airflow LED Fan - Blue (Single Pack)
