Stem Deck C compiler?

Hey does anyone know if C compiler cc is pre-installed on Steam Deck? I am tryin to build QEMU and it says it can't find it

hmm yeah but I don't want to disable the read only, if I cannot get a ready made build of the compiler or executable that installs it I cannot get qemu. Unless there is a executable qemu package

From all I can tell, if you want to compile it yourself, you'll basically have to restore a whole lot of files to the system, that have been left out. So just getting a compiler won't really be enough.

 

And steamOS is also using a custom kernel, which makes things a bit harder as well. So without doing some tinkering, it seems like it won't be possible. But it does sound like a lot of fun. Maybe you could install steamOS on a virtual machine and build yourself an executable there?

hmm I don't know maybe. It is kinda fun doing dev stuff
