Q) Will there be paid DLC?

A) We plan to release a series of free content updates for Need for Speed. We currently have no plans for any paid DLC.

 

 

DLC depends on sales. If it's going to sell well, we are going to see DLCs. Could it be neons and engines? Who knows.

With the PC version delayed for a proper port, if the console reviews are good, you could pre order the PC version after November 3.

 

To what end? Also, waiting more time does not necessarily mean the port will be good. GTA V released on pc 1.5 years later and it still isn't exactly amazing when it comes to ports; mad max on the other hand (for example) came out simultaneously for pcs and consoles and is one of the best ports in recent history.

They were ready to release the game with a capped framerate, I can assume the game would of been stable at 30 as their previous game NFS rivals was. They have to push back the date to unlock the framerate, then fix all the gamespeed and crap that was tied to it, then test. Simple (I hope).

Neat but I don't need that much more customization, as I said before just make it an improved remake of Need for Speed Underground 2. That game had enough customization but not so much that it becomes an RPG character creator simulator.

I hope you realize how indicative of TERRIBLE development practices that would be. There is NO excuse to bind anything in the game to the framerate. It's much more sensible to use the system clock, or any other fixed time indicator.

yeah, I bash my head against the table at the thought of it, I don't understand why it done, COD does it too.

CoD is also using a 16 year old game engine. Not an example to go by...

I don't like all the motion blur or that it is always night so the lights are distracting. Also the whole drift thing is annoying. I hope I can turn these all off.

Neat features and all but I still prefer the beautiful European country with beautiful cars. Not horribly mutated ego machines that perform nothing like the real thing.

I suggest you go watch Top Gear and see that high performance super cars more often than not, lose hands down to "horribly mutated ego machines". At least in drag racing they do.

 

As for racing with curves in the road, that's questionable. Depends on what you do to it. Long story short, modified cars can always beat the pants off of stock, if they're done right.

if the game is shit on consoles, it wont magically be good on PC. It will be shit, AND be a port..... so most likely a shitty port at that too....

Looks like they went out and copied Forza, made it more arcade-like, and are releasing it for more than one platform.

But it does still look pretty damn awesome

They aren't copying Forza they did that stuff before the Forza franchise even existed.

The game is basically a remake of Need For Speed Underground 2.

Those vehicles are just horribly well tuned for a specific purpose. They will probably never survive 24hr Le Mans or achieve the mileage of cars that are built to standards.

 

Performance aside, have you seen all those clown cars in previous NFS titles that somehow managed to perform several tiers higher than stock?

Admittedly, cars in NFS do outperform to a ridiculous amount. Still, modified cars will always do better than stock when setup properly. You really think those 24 hour Le Mans cars are stock? Hell, even Jaguar makes versions cars that are more race car than street legal car.

I hope you realize how indicative of TERRIBLE development practices that would be. There is NO excuse to bind anything in the game to the framerate. It's much more sensible to use the system clock, or any other fixed time indicator.

Some games were forced to have a 30FPS cap anyway since running the game in 30FPS+ would be hard or pointless......

The police chases were always my favorite part about NFS Most Wanted and Blacklist. If the same team decided to do a mad-max-ish type car combat game, it would definitely be something I ended up buying.

 

Maybe they should do a dystopian future car racing game. Not like mad max, but more like a blade-runner/judge dredd style future. Mega-cities and what not.
