What happens when you use plain paper on Photo paper print settings?

Has anyone else tried this?

it produces better albeit slower results than telling the printer youre using normal paper on Best setting,

however im worried that this would damage the printer overtime and I don't know if it's viable in the long term.

I really don't know. I don't think it would necessarily damage the printer, seeing as the print heads are built to print onto.. just... paper in general.

Go ahead and try it :P

it will saturate the paper with more ink. Photo papers are designed to require more ink, yet still lock in the color so there is no running or bleeding. Using plain paper (assuming a 20lbs weight, as that and 22lbs are the most common) will saturate the paper, and likely bleed. I've see some actually tear the page as it was printing due to said printer using an abundance of ink when set to "Ultra High Gloss" photo paper.

The paper will be HEAVILY saturated and every wet with ink.  And if that doesn't happen then...shit...shit will happen MARK MY WORDS!

I've tried it , the printed picture neither bled nor over saturated , and the quality is much much better but it took an hour to print.

I'm worried that this is not good for the printer.

The ink in my shitty printer doesn't do anything but make my paper damp and the print distorted. ;-;
