Just rip it so you have the files or copy it into an iso format or something

You rip it, pretty straight forward.

I think Windows 7's Media Player has such a feature built in, so I suppose other Windows versions too.

You can rip the CD, I use iTunes but there are many other programs that can do this(Freemake, Roxio, etc.). This is legal, unless if you are in the UK, but its not like it matters anyways.

Like anybody really cares anyway though :)

By riping a CD you probably mean to make a copy of the data that's on it with a program.

If so, that's illegal anywhere on the world. The rights of a manufacturer are not bound to a country.

Ripping is legal, making personal copies of your own disks is just fine. Making copies of someone else's disks or redistributing them is illegal however. Making personal copies is legal in most countries, however I had to throw the UK under the bus since they recently changed the law(it was legal, now its not).

Well, yeah it's correct that you are allowed to make as much copys as you want as long as you use them for yourself, but most CDs and DvDs have those copy-safety things. Don't know how they're called. You know what I mean :P

And afaik it isn't allowed to remove or to bypass them.

I know what you mean, but personal use software(like Roxio that I mentioned above) gives the disk a "OK" when creating a copy, since its licensed for creating personal copies. The copyright mechanism they put in disk is only to prevent "data doupers" from going to town and creating 10+ disks at a time(I even saw a 24 disk machine at one point).

Recent Audio CDs with copy protection are really really rare.

If it is legal use CUETools AccurateRip and CUETools DB is built in to verify a bit identical rip.

Okay, didn't know that. Thanks

I didn't buy a CD for years now. The last one was from Lindsey Stirling god knows how long ago.

Good to know. Thanks for the info! :)
